According to Rebecca Parlakian, M.A., E.D., a parenting expert from Zero to Three, gifts for kids in the 3-year-old age range should help them explore the world around them — something preschoolers love to do. "That’s why they enjoy all kinds of blocks, people and animal figures, and vehicles — so they can build structures and worlds of their own like houses or zoos, test exactly how high a structure can go or solve problems like how to build a roof."

With that in mind, the Good Housekeeping Institute set out to test as many toys as possible, evaluating them both in the Parenting Lab with experts and at home with real families. (The best of the best went to win Good Housekeeping Best Toy Awards). We put those recommendations together with trendy best-sellers and editor picks for these best toys for 3-year-old boys in 2024. This year, those preschoolers are so lucky!
This set comes with five playable records in different musical styles, and the songs on them cover topics like counting, wordplay and following directions. In Good Housekeeping Institute tests, though, what kids really loved most was the process of taking a record, removing it from the sleeve, putting it on the turntable and putting the "needle" on it to make it play, just like adults do! Batteries are included. Ages 3+
